QBOL-EPPO Conference on
DNA barcoding

A joint QBOL-EPPO Conference on plant pest DNA barcoding and diagnostic methods for plant pests will be organized on 2012-05-21/25 by the QBOL partners, the Dutch Plant Protection Service and EPPO. QBOL (Quarantine organisms Barcode Of Life) is a three year project (2009-2012) funded under the 7th Framework Program of the European Union. QBOL seeks to generate DNA barcode information for vouchered specimens of quarantine pests. The DNA sequence will form the basis of a publically available, searchable, web accessible database. The Conference will be organized into different session covering different disciplines (bacteria, fungi, insects, nematodes, phytoplasmas, and viruses) where QBOL outcomes will be presented as well as other diagnostic methods. |
Registration
Registration is still possible (for a limited number of participants) but the scientific programme is now complete.
REGISTER online http://meeting.eppo.int/index.php/D3054The registration fee for the conference will be 335 EUR for four days (the fee will cover costs such as coffee breaks, lunches, conference dinner, meeting facilities and documents). A single day registration will also be possible (100 EUR/day). Articles resulting from the Conference (oral communications and posters) will be published in the Bulletin OEPP/EPPO Bulletin and all participants will have online access to those articles.

The Conference will take place at the Hotel Haarlem South.
